For the last two weeks one of the X-ray machines in the in Radiology Department of LRH is out of order causing problems for the patients.

The Frontier Post on Wednesday learnt that one of the Computerized Radiology (CR) machines was not functioning due to a fault in the machine which was creating irks for the patients.

There are two CR machines in Radiology Department for the x-ray but for the last two weeks one machine has developed some technical problems.

There were five x-ray general machines in LRH including one in casualty and four were in Radiology Department at LRH.

Amjad, security officer at LRH told The Frontier Post rejected the notion that people were forced to wait in the long queues by saying that mostly people come to the X-ray department without getting prior appointment.

However, Muhammad Arshad, Head Technician In Radiology Department said they were carrying out the routine x-ray check up with only one CR machine while for the last two week the other machine was out of order. 

Because of the suspension of the contract of engineer in LRH no one is ready to fix the machine, he added.

He also said on daily basis they need around 200 color films which were used in getting the x-ray while they were being given only 50 films. Laiq, a resident of Gulbahar who brought his mother to LRH for the x-ray at Radiology Department and was stood in a rush told The Frontier Post ‘we were came here early in the morning but still we are waiting for our number while blue eyes people were facilitated’ he added.

He also added that there were no proper arrangement for sitting here as most of the patients and especially female were not waiting long, adding that the behavior of the staff of the hospital with the patients is not good. 

Another visitor at LRH, Nawab said that they were came to the LRH from far flung area of Parachinar as my patient has sever problems and we could not be able to wait long as after the x-ray we will also check up from the doctor and then we will go to the home which is not possible as I am compel to stay in a hotel, he added.

He added that most of the patients were poor and could not be able to take their x-ray from out side in private laboratory as they were compel to take their x-ray from here.
