
University of Peshawar rescheduled the dates of examinations and new admissions due to protest rallies of the university employee against the government for not paying the announced twenty percent increase in their salaries.
The announcement came in a press briefing called by Vice Chancellor of UoP Dr Qibla Ayaz in his office on Monday.
Currently the lecturers and professors have boycotted the classes and the clerical staff are not going to their offices and the university administration had to take this action. The VC informed that new admissions in UoP for MA and MSc classes were in progress but due to current protests the deadline of admissions for MA/MSc were extended to October 17th while new dates of classes for BS student of 2012 session would be announced after the staff end their protests.
The forms for rechecking, re-totaling of BA, BSc and LLB marks annual exams, and BA and BSc supplementary exam will be received till October 25.
The VC also briefed the media regarding the registration for convocation to be held in November 2012 and said that date has were extended to October 25th. Viva of MA/MSc students were postponed while new date sheet for postponed examination of BS, ADA, BSc, BSS and MSc of Forestry would be announced on October 25th, Qibla Ayaz said. Dr. Qibla Ayaz said that because of the staff’s protests and demonstration the study schedule of the students was affected and to compensate for that the dates of examinations, return of forms and admissions have been rescheduled.
