The Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Minister for Archaeology, Museums, Sports and Youth Affairs, Syed Aqil Shah on Friday inaugurated the renovated Sethi House Peshawar and declared its lower portion open for the visitors of Peshawar and outside. 

Secretary Archeology and Museums, Syed Jamaluddin Shah, Director Archeology, Dr. Shah Nazar, Madam Farida Nishtar, Ghulam Dastagir Sethi, authorities of archeology and Museums were also present on the occasion. Sethi House had been built in 1884 and the present government had issued funds for its renovation. The renovation work on its lower portion has been completed while the remaining work on its upper portion would also be completed.

Syed Aqil Shah said the street from main road to Sethi House would be developed and the whole Sethi Mohallah would be made a hub of tourists. He said our province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province was full of tourist’s attraction sites. He said soon tour packages would come to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from the whole country and the visits would witness with their own eyes worth seeing sites including Sethi House.

He expressed the hope that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the home of Gandhara civilization that was why the foreign tourists would visit the province to witness themselves the Gandhara and Buddhists civilization. Syed Aqil Shah said Gor Gathri would be turned into an artisan village wherein handicrafts would be displayed. He asked the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination to handover the PTDC properties to Khyber Pukhtunkhwa government as according to the 18th Constitutional Amendment the PTDC properties in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should be in control of the provincial government.
