Divisional administration has established a price control cell at the office of Commissioner, Peshawar to monitor price control measures initiated on directives of the provincial cabinet.

The meeting held here with Commissioner, Peshawar, Tariq Jameel in the chair reviewed the implementation of decisions of special meeting of the provincial Cabinet.

The meeting was attended by DCOs of Peshawar, Charsadda and Nowshera and Commissioner Afghan refugees.

It was told that all the concerned DCOs constituted consumer protection committees at district and village level to protect the rights of consumers and bring the prices of essential commodities down besides the DCOs had also held price review meeting and fixed prices of essential commodities.It was also decided that all the DCOs and price Magistrate visit Bazzar and conduct raids regularly to check the prices in urban as well as in remote areas and to bring the profiteers to book.

The meeting decided that DCO Peshawar will hold a press conference along with commissioner Afghan Refugees to sensitise the general public regarding illegal stay of Afghan nationals.

The meeting asked the DCOs concerned to speed up the process of compilation of non-locals on the prescribed format in their respective districts.The meeting directed all the DCOs and DORs to initiate action for the effectively blocking the practice of land transition in favour of Afghan nationals.

The commissioner Peshawar while addressing said the Azakhel Refugee Camp had been abolished but the refugees residing illegally along the Railway track.He directed DCO Nowshera to remove the Afghan nationals staying along the railway track.

The meeting was told that all the DCOs had imposed Section 144 on cattle movement and steps had taken for controlling the smuggling of essential commodities on this pattern.

The meeting also discussed the issues of militancy, kidnapping and Afghan prayer leaders and taken necessary decisions in this regard.
