Anti-polio campaign in Peshawar, which was to start from Saturday, could not begin due to technical reasons, local officials said.
The campaign, which halted throughout the country following attacks on polio workers last month, was due to start in the provincial capital in which around 795,000 children were to be vaccinated against polio.
But Assistant Commissioner Peshawar Zeeshan Sikandar said that the drive could not get started due to technical reasons. He said that it is expected that campaign may begin from January 14 after consultation from the World Health Organization.
WHO had stopped its vaccination campaign throughout Pakistan after several polio workers were shot dead last month in Sindh and KPK.
