Placing of benches, dustbins at scenic, archaeological sites launched

Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) in collaboration with the World Bank has started placing quality benches and dustbins at the scenic places, archaeological sites and other tourist and recreational spots across the province.

The TCKP launched initiative under the World Bank’s economic development programme for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata to develop tourism infrastructure and capacity-building of the tourism industry services.

In the first phase, quality benches and dustbins were placed at the Peshawar Museum, Gor Khattri and Jinnah Bagh, Waterfall, Sajikot and other parks in Abbottabad and Havelian, Shamshan Ghat and Company Bagh in Nowshera and several parks in Bannu.

In the second phase, benches and dustbins would be placed in parks, tourist places and archaeological sites located in Kohat, Chitral, Dir, Lakki Marwat and elsewhere in the province.
The TCKP has already provided 200 benches to the Directorate of Archaeology for the purpose.

Meanwhile, Minority Youth Minister Goryal visited TCKP and met Managing Director Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, Senior General Manager Hayat Ali Shah, General Manager (Admin) Sajjad Hameed, Controller Accounts Akbar Ali, Planning Officer Arbab Hasnain and other officials. He thanked the officials for the initiative and beautification of scenic sites and parks to facilitate the tourists in the province.
