According to the details provided by BISE, 58 candidates secured the top 20 positions and 51 of them were girls.

Ms Samra Ghazal of Peshawar Model Girls High School topped the examination by securing 978 out of 1,050 marks, while Ms Hira Motasim and Ms Sidra Motasim of the same school grabbed the second and third positions by getting 972 and 971 marks, respectively.All the three belong to the science group.

The results were announced during a special ceremony held here at the BISE offices, where provincial elementary and secondary education minister Sardar Hussain Babak, BISE chairman Dr Mohammad Shafi Afridi and BISE controller Islamuddin were also in attendance.

The top five positions in the overall and the science group in 10th grade went to PMGHS.

In arts group, Ms Ujala Tahir of Forward Girls High School stood first by securing 895 marks. Ms Hira Farooq of
Government Girls High School, PAF Shaheen Camp, secured second by getting 879 marks, while Ms Mashal Najeeb of Forward Public School got third position by getting 878 marks.

In the overall results of 10th grade, 83.34 per cent candidates were declared successful.

A total of 47,023 students appeared as regular candidates and of them, 41,381 (88.01 per cent) passed the exam. Similarly, a total of 12,415 students appeared as private candidates and of them, 8,156 (65.69 per cent) were successful. In science group, 30,644 (90.54 per cent) of the 33,845 candidates passed the examination, while in humanitarian group, around 18,516 (72.67 per cent) of the 25481 candidates were successful.

BISE chairman Dr Mohammad Shafi Afridi told participants that overall, 123,798 candidates appeared in 9th and 10th grades from Peshawar, Charsadda and Chitral districts, and Khyber and Mohmand agencies.
