As many as 24 tribesmen were released on Thursday by Political Administration on successful talks with the jirga. The procedure of distributing Rs 60 millions among the heirs of the Alamgudar victims was also agreed upon. 

Malik Waris Khan among Jirga President Maqbali Khan, JI leader Shah Faisal Afridi, former MNA Mohammad Shah, former Senator Nasir Khan, Iqbal Afridi of PTI, Imran Afridi of ANP, Farhad Shabab, Ikhtiyar Badshah, Haji Yar Azghar and Daud Khan were the members of the jirga. 

The jirga met the political administration in Khyber House Peshawar and demanded that to stop the mortar attacks in their area. 

It was decided that the jirga meeting would be held again on January 30 in which the jirga would present suggestions and ways to open the Bara Bazar and lift curfew in the area.

PA Khyber Mutahir Zeb and APA Bara Nasir Khan ordered the release of 24 tribesmen in the respect of tribal jirga. The tribesmen were arrested during a protest against government over the killings of 18 tribesmen few days back. 

PA, Mutahir Zeb told the jirga that government was stand by the agreements made with jirga members and stated that the Rs 60 millions would be soon handed over to jirga to distribute among the heirs of killed tribesmen. The members of jirga should also play their role to stop abducting and killing of government officials and not to damage official’s property, PA remarked.

He criticized the militants groups for killing the official men and then taking away the heads of them, however it is against the Islamic preaching. The released tribesmen include as Khyber Khan son of Socha Khan of Akakhel tribe, Imran son of Khwaja Ali of Sipah tribe, Bakhtayawar son of Khalil Khan of Sipah, Mohammad Riyaz son of Khurshed of Shalobar tribe, Asad Ullah son of Mursalin of Malikdin Khel, Juma Gul son of Yar Bahadar of Kamar Khel, Jan Alam son of Bad Shah Mir of Kamar Khel, Zarif son of Badshah of Kamar Khel and Zenat Shah son of Amir Bad Shah of Kamar Khel.
