Mercury has dipped to Zero degree centigrade for the first time in this winter season in Provincial Capital as the Met Office has predicted cold to very cold and dry weather in most parts of the province during next 24 hours.
Foggy conditions likely to continue in Peshawar during late night/morning hours.
According to Met Office continental air is prevailing over most parts of the Country. Whereas a shallow western disturbance is also prevailing over northern areas of the Country. Met office also said that the coverage of fog would also extend towards the plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Peshawar and D.I. Khan divisions.
Met Office further predicted that the prevailing foggy conditions would subside after a good spell of winter rains which is expected during 2nd – 3rd week of the current month. People of the provincial capital faced difficulties on Saturday due to shortage of gas and low gas pressure which brought more misiries especially for elderly and children in the harsh winter weather.
The consumers were perturbed with low gas pressure, they believe that with the closure of CNG stations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at least the domestic comsumers would get smooth flow of gas supply. Women faced difficulties in preparing breakfast and carrying out other works due to the shortage of gas and cold weather.
