Commissioner Tariq Jamil chaired a high level meeting at his office on Friday to review the security arrangements in the upcoming Islamic month, Moharram-ul Haram.

Capital City Police Officer Imtiaz Altaf, DCO Peshawar Javed Marwat, DCO Nowshera Ghulam Marwat and other relevant officials were present in the meeting.

The meeting decided after detailed discussions on the security situation that Commissioner Afghan Refugees would be requested to ban entry of Afghan refugees in the provincial capital during Moharam-ul Haram.

It was also decided in the meeting to keep a strict check on hotels, bazaars, inns and guest rooms after 6th Moharam ul Haram in order to avoid any untoward incident.

In addition, the meeting also decided to ensure uninterrupted power supply on the routes of congregations besides ensuring presence of paramedical staff at Kohati gate.

Commissioner Peshawar directed concerned authorities to impose section-144 in Moharram, banning provocative material, pamphlets and posters, brandishing of fire arms, movement of Afghan refugees and pillion riding etc.
