Health Employees Coordination Counsel held a general body meeting against the Essential Services Aid act at Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) Peshawar on Monday. The general body comprised of professors, doctors, paramedics, nurses and class four employees. Addressing the meeting Professor Dr. Mustafa Iqbal said the Provincial Health Employees Coordination Counsel (HECC) was a non-political body.

He said that the body was providing basic necessities to the patients in hospitals as well as solving the problems faced by health employees through negotiations with the provincial government. President of Young Doctors Association (YDA) Dr. Shahwar said the notification of Essential Services Act was unjust and similar to imposing martial law on health employees.
