
The elders and Maliks of Khugakhel tribe of Shinwari said on sunday that maximum area of Torkham border is the personal estate of Khugakhel tribe and therefore government should take them on board before taking any decision regarding the land.
Addressing a press conference held at LandiKotal press club, the elders including Malik Tahir, Malik Taj Uddin, Malik Taqdeer, Chairman of custom agency Torkham, Miraj Uddin, Zar Nabi and Samin said if any decision taken without their consultation and consensus regarding construction of any truck terminal on the private priority would be unacceptable.
They categorically said any step towards the construction of any development work or any other project would be strongly condemned and criticized. The tribesmen stated they do not want to become impediment in way of any development work as few years back the NHA had completed various development projects in Torkham border area which they heartedly appreciate it. or construction as they should be taken into confidence.
The authorities concerned should address the reservations of Khugakhel tribe and the matter should be solved through proper conditions and principles. warning the political administration and Pak Army to avoid construction any terminal without the prior permission and consultation wit Khugakhel tribe because it was their property and estate.
