Khyber Union of Journalists and Peshawar Press Club on Saturday rejected the government announced committee to probe the violence against journalists by doctors of Khyber Teaching Hospital and demanded Judicial Inquiry of the incident.

The demand was made during a protest demonstration against doctors.

The Protesting Journalists marched on Sher Shah Suri Road and condemned the violence against journalists.

The demonstration was led by President Peshawar Press Club Nasir Hussain, General Secretary Yousaf Ali, Senior Journalist Syed Bukhar Shah Bacha, Safiullah Gull and Abdul Hakim. 

Journalists were holding placards and banners condemning the violence against journalists and demanding removal of doctors involved in violence against journalists. 

On this occasion representative of PPP Nighat Aurakzai, PML (N) Haji Mohammad Afzal, Trader leader Haji Ihsan Elahi, Leader of Karwan Tanzeen Khalid Ayub, PTI representative Zahir Bangash and others expressed solidarity with journalists and demanded impartial inquiry of the incident.

On this occasion journalists rejected the committee formed by government to probe the yesterday’s incident and demanded for judicial inquiry to fix the responsibilities and punish the responsible.

On this occasion the Action Committee announced to continued the protest till acceptance of demands and organize a big protest demonstration on Monday in front of Chief Minister’s secretariat.
