
The Provincial Transport Authority (PTA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Tuesday reduced fares for inter-city transport keeping in view the recent cut in prices of petroleum products. The PTA has directed all secretaries of regional transport authorities (RTAs) to prepare fare table of routes falling in their respective jurisdiction in the light of diesel price at Rs99.69 per litre.
According to the revised list, fare from Peshawar to Charsadda was reduced from Rs32 to Rs27, while in air-conditioned coaches it had been brought down from Rs37 to Rs36.
The fare from Peshawar to different stations was also revised downward. The new fare from Peshawar to Mingora is fixed at Rs230 in non-AC coaches and Rs270 in AC coaches,

The PTA has again ignored mentioning most of the cities in the revised fare list. Besides, the fare list for intra-city transport is yet to be revised.
