The provincial government on Thursday announced that as many as 200 new posts will be created in the provincial police department which will be dedicated for heirs of the police officers martyred in the line of duty.

This was announced by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Law Minister Sultan Muhammad Khan as the provincial assembly resumed on Thursday.

With a call-to-attention notice (CAN) moved about the employment of family members of slain police officers, Awami National Party (ANP) lawmaker Shagufta Malik said that the sacrifices of K-P police have been acknowledged the world over. But despite rendering such huge sacrifices, their families have yet to be given any relief and as many as 200 children of Peshawar police martyrs were still waiting for jobs which had been allocated for them under the martyrs’ quota.
