
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir Haider Khan Hoti has approved Rs. 34 million as non-ADP scheme for repair and maintenance of Mall Road, Peshawar Cantt, from Darvesh Masjid to railway crossing Bara Road. It merits a mention here that the said road was an important section of road network in Peshawar Cantt.
The total length of this road is 1950 meters, out of which the initial 1600 meters is dual carriageway and the terminal 350 meters consists of a widened single carriageway.
The initial stretch of 300 meters from darvesh masjid to Sahibzada Gul Chowk is in good condition and does not need any repair while the remaining 1650 meters is in need of proper rehabilitation. Keeping in view the importance of the road, the CM approved Rs. 34 million for this purpose.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Amir Haider Khan Hoti has also approved Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical College at Duranpur in public sector and its declaration as part of medical institution Lady Reading Hospital as provided in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Medical Health Institutions and Regulation of Health-care Services Ordinance 2002. It merits a mention here that Dr. Azmat Talat, Professor of Paediatric (BP-21) has been posted as principal of the college.
The college will start functioning from academic year 2012. The age relaxation for appointment on contract basis for the post of professor and associate professor in basic sciences shall be extended up to 62 and 58 years respectively.
The finance department also approved teaching and non-teaching posts in the year 2012 due to lack of faculty in public sector medical colleges and NOC from PM&DC will be acquired to the college on fulfilling faculty and infra structure requirements.
