Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir Haider Khan Hoti has stressed for increase the pace of work on ongoing and new road projects in the province. 

Chairing a meeting of Communication and Works Department (C&W) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Highway Authority (PHA) at his office on Monday, the Chief Minister said the government had laid a network of quality roads across the province keeping in mind the fact that roads play central role in development of any area by promoting trade and economic activities. 

He said that the present government allocated huge funds in ADP for this sector. Hoti was of the view that more resources were allocated to ensure the timely completion of the ongoing uplift schemes so that maximum relief would be given to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 

Scarcity of resources will not hinder timely completion of these projects and there will be no compromise on the quality of work on these projects, CM Hoti added. He lauded performance of concerned departments and hoped these institutions will keep up its departments and will improve it further. 

Participants of the meeting were Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Waqar-ul-Hassan, Secretary C&W Zahid Arif, Chief Engineer Ashraf Khan, Superintending Engineer Shahab Khattak, Director Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Highway Authority Javed Ihsan, Deputy Director Muhammad Uzair and other concerned authorities. 

Matters pertaining to progress on road projects in different districts, situation regarding funds allocation, confronting problems and its solution remained under discussion on the occasion.

Director PHA informed the meeting that a total of 35 schemes were underway in the province out of which 28 were ongoing while the remaining 7 were new schemes. 

He assured that seven important schemes were in its last phases of completion. S.E Shahab Khattak of C&W informed the meeting on schemes under his department, allocation of funds, expenditures and details regarding swiftly accomplished roads. 

Meanwhile chairing another meeting with sui gas officers, the Chief Minister directed for early supply of gas after completion of gas provision schemes. 

He stressed the department for minimum gas load shedding during winter in order to provide more relief to consumers. 

Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Syed Waqar-ul-Hassan, General Manager SNGPL Muhammad Haroon Khan and other officers were also present.
