
Hundreds of residents were forced to evacuate areas along Charsadda Road in the suburbs of Peshawar due to overflowing of Budhni Nullah.
While the monsoon rains have lowered the temperature and humidity in upper parts of Punjab, it has wreaked havoc in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Due to overflowing of Budhni Nullah, hundreds of homes were affected that forced several people to shift to safer places.
The overflowing of Budni Nallah has inundated the streets and roads and entered homes of Sardar Ahmed Colony, Qazi Karano, Qassab Khana, Nishat Mills, Hassan Garhi, Basheerabad, Maqsoodabad, Faqeer Qalay and Abdullahabad.
Many of the residents took refuge on their rooftops while many remained stranded on roads on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the administration paid no heed to rescue the residents and hasn’t taken any effective steps for the residents as yet.
Traffic has been restored on Charrsadda Road after receding of flood water in Bhudni water channel early Tuesday morning.
The flood water suddenly appeared on Charsadda and Pachagai roads due to heavy rain in Khyber Agency and adjoining areas of Peshawar the night before.
The water, which entered in houses, also started receding. The flash flood have also damaged mud walls and many domestic animals were carried away by the high and speedy flow of water.
The Spokesman of Flood Warning Cell said that 11705 cusecs water was recorded in Bhudni stream. However, no loss of life has been reported.
