The long awaited first cycling academy of Pakistan was launched in the premises of the historical Qayyum Sports Complex with the collaboration of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Cycling Association and Directorate of Sports Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Friday.
The academy has been established to enlist and ensure modern techniques of cycling to the upcoming cyclists. Ahmad said the academy will promote cycling in the region. It will help young cyclists hone its skills under coaches.
He said besides improving cycling handling techniques, racing skills, cycle fitness, bike, helmet, drink, snack and suitable clothing are things that need proper awareness.
K-P Sports DG Junaid Khan expressed the hope that the academy will become a cradle for cycling talent in the province. The academy is about working to become a better rider in a friendly and progressive environment. He also assured full support to the academy and said that more such academies would be established in other games as well so that games could be promoted at grassroots level.
