
At least seven persons were brought to Lady Reading Hospital after they sustained injured caused by aerial firing in different parts of the city and cantonment late on Chand Raat in the provincial capital on Saturday.
Three of the injured were females. City police were unable to fulfill their promise of not allowing aerial firing in city and cantonment areas though they were more successful in the villages and semi-suburban around the city had a No case reported injuries caused by aerial firing were reported from the rural areas.
The injured were identified as Habiba wife of Saeed Rehman resident of Peshtakhra, Shahid son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Wahid Ghari, Liba daughter of Majid resident of Hazarkhwani, Mumlikat daughter of Rasool resident of Sohilabad, Salih Muhammad son of Khan Muhammad resident of Zargarabad, Tahir son of Sabir, Imtiaz son of Gul Khan. Some injured were discharged from Hospital after dressing while others were.
The city police had campaigned in different parts of Peshawar but unfortunately aerial firing took place and people were wounded.
No a single case was reported in Khazana, Mathra and Dawoodzai due to successful campaign in rural area by DSP Sahibzada Sajjad Khan who met with elders of villagers and convinced them and told the causes of aerial fire due to which Eid happiness turn to mourning.
