One of the biggest problems the Provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is facing for years and years is the dust. There was already high level of pollution in the city and the construction of roads, flyovers and huge buildings and shopping plazas has worked as a catalyst to increase the dust.
If some one has the experience of going to Hayatabad or Karkhano Market using the Ring Road, he or she must have experienced the dust which flies all over the road causing nuisance to not only the motorists but also it becomes the worst situation to drive in for the bikers as after passing through the road the clothes and the vehicles they drive gets the dust cover. Even their faces and head bite the dust.
Similarly, is the situation near the KP Assembly building and the office of the Deputy Commissioner Peshawar where the construction of the Mufti Mehmood Flyover is going on since long.
The University Road is fastly becoming the road of plazas where the shopping plazas are being built in a quick pace. The dust on the University Road is mainly due to the construction of this construction.
Everyone has hoped for a change before the May 11 general elections and the change has arrived in the shape of heavy defeat of ANP and PPP in Peshawar and the strong victory of PTI where its chairman Imran Khan managed even to defeat the strongest candidates the city has ever produced – Ghulam Bilour.
Now with out of 11 National Assembly and KP Assembly members from Peshawar, 10 belong to PTI and this has raised our hopes that they would do something which the previous governments had failed to do and they would achieve something which the previous governments had failed to achieve and that is to change the look of Peshawar and make it the Provincial Capital of the province in the real sense.
