District Administration and Traffic Police jointly launched an offensive against the encroachments and illegal parking on footpaths in Hospital Road of Qisakhwani on Friday and arrested dozens od shopkeepers on the spot.

Addressing the journalists, AAC Nasir Khan said during the operation against encroachers, the police and administration impounded the stuff of shopkeepers including, pushcart and food items. He said the illegal parking and Chatrali stand was also demolished. The district administration launched operation against the encroachments after the Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Javed Marwat issued directives to remove out all the encroachments from footpaths in all bazaars of Peshawar.

The operation was carried out by district administration and traffic police under the Additional Assistant Commissioner III, Nasir Khan Swabi in Hospital Road of Qisa Khwani and Qila Bala Hisar Road. More than dozens of motorbikes were taken into custody standing outside the shop of motorcycle mechanic and the encroachments outside the medicines shops of Leady Reading Hospital were also demolished, administration added.

He claimed they had removed the illegal parking on Hospital Road and the stuff kept outside the fruit shops was also confiscated on the occasion and added that they also arrested several shopkeepers for encroachments on footpath bazaar.
