For the last two days Peshawarties were facing immense problems of health services as the doctors and paramedical staffs were on strike and demanded the government Essential Service Act and Service Structure.

On Wednesday Out Door Patient Department(OPD) was closed at Khyber Teaching Hospital because of the strike of paramedical staff and doctors while before one day strike was observed in Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) and today on Thursday strike would also be observed at Hayatabad Medical Complex.

Most of the patients who were came to KTH from far flung area as well as admitted patients were also face difficulties in health services because of the strike, while the doctors were offering duties at emergency unit where huge rush was observed. 

Health Coordination Council (HECC) a joint organization of doctors, paramedics and nurses had given the call of strike for their demands.

Post Graduate Medical Institute Teaching Staff (PGMITSA) President Dr.Musa Kaleem told The Frontier Post that they had meeting with the chief executive of KTH in which all the paramedical staff representative and nursing council members and in the meeting we forward our demands to the chief executive of KTH and he promised that he would forward their demands to health secretary which would be soon passed from the provincial assembly, he added.

He also demanded the government to give Service Structure and Essential Service Act like Punjab government. He also added that on 19th February they would sit-in strike in front of provincial assembly if their demands were not fulfilled by the government.
