
Paying glowing tributes to Fakhr-e-Pakhtoons Khan Abdul Ghafar Khan alias Bacha Khan and ANP former President Abdul Wali Khan on their death anniversaries that would be observed on Monday, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Environment and Forests, Wajid Ali Khan said the best tributes to them is to forge unity and work for sustainable democracy, non-violence and peace in the society.
He said Bacha Khan was a towering personality of 20th Century who not only saved Pakthoons nation from the destructive war machine of the British Imperialism but also politically awakened them about their constitutional, moral and legal rights. He said leaders like Bacha Khan born in centuries who had worked democratic and constitutional rights of people.
He said Bacha Khan was a great freedom fighter who devoted his life for socio-economic emancipation of people and Pakthoon nation. He said it has been proved that peace in world can be materialized by implementing Bacha Khan’s philosophy of nonviolence.
With regard to the role and services of Khan Abdul Wali Khan, he pointed out that he was not only the son of that great freedom fighter and icon of non-violence Bacha Khan but a true follower and political comrade too, who throughout his life uphold these principles and philosophy. He said the best tributes to these legendary leaders are to shun violence and unit for restoration of peace on their homeland and ensuring prosperity for their future generations.
He said ANP has successfully propagated the thoughts and mission of Bacha Khan and Abdul Wali Khan and completed all the election promises.
On one side, he said ANP has stood like rock against anti state elements for national survival by following its rich history and traditions while on the other side achieved remarkable success by getting provincial autonomy, identity to Pakhtoons, increase in provincial resources due to NFC Award, attainment of net hydel profit etc became possible due to political acumen and insight of ANP Chief Asfandiyar Wali Khan and national leadership. He said Bacha Khan and Wali Khan had earnestly desired that Pakthoons should equip themselves with ornment of education and the ANP led KP Government has fulfiled their dreams by establishing nine universities in the province. He said had Bacha Khan and Wali Khan alive today would have very pleased of the major success achieved by ANP. He said although Bacha Khan and Wali Khan were not alive today but their mission would be carried forward.
