Shifa International Hospital Islamabad organized a one-day free screening and medical camp at Shifa Facilitation Center on Monday. Free hepatitis C, cholesterol, blood pressure and body mass index (BMI) tests were conducted using latest modern technology. More than 150 people from various parts of the city got free screening and consultancy from senior experts at Shifa International Hospital Islamabad through telemedicine technology.
Around 4 percent of total screened persons were hepatitis C positive, 8 percent were diagnosed with high cholesterol and blood pressure issue was found in 10 percent.
Associate Consultant Emergency Medicine Dr. Shari examined many patients using telemedicine technology, advised them treatment and prescribed medicine. Director Strategic Planning SIH Mahmood Mirza, Senior Manager Media SIH Azmatullah Quraishi, many other officials and doctors specially came to Peshawar for the camp.
Mahmood Mirza said the main objective of organizing the camp was to create awareness among masses as well as provide them a free facility to know about their health in order to prevent serious health issues related to liver and heart.
He said Shifa had always tried to play an effective role to contribute in the society by planning awareness seminars, campaigns as well as free medical camps for the masses.
