
Despite huge claims by City fathers to clean city from all dirt, areas of Gulbahar is littered with garbage residents complained on Sunday. Locals, while expressing displeasure over the failure of the town authorities to pick up garbage and clean the area, said they had registered complaints with Town-I officials for removing the garbage but the authorities refused to redress.
Jan Akbar (60), resident of Gulbahar No III talking to The Frontier Post said he the children played in trash all day long, which was extremely harmful for health.
He further said he was not just holding authorities responsible for the trash dumps because the villagers were also throwing garbage out of their homes instead of collecting it in dumpsters made avalable by the government.
Jan Akbar further said some time after rain, the stagnate water become contimianted. A healthy environment can be provided if serous measures were taken by government to lift the trash, he remarked. Another pedestrian Javed Khan when asked saying that he was routinely passing the Gulbahar No IIII area and was looking the employees of Town engaged in picking up the trash.
Hence the locals in spite of keeping the dirtiness in containers put in empty plots. He stated because of the dumped dirtiness it mostly caused diseases in the area and they were facing awful smell all the time. Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) of Town I Javed Amjed when contacted for his comments over the issue said the employees were performing their duties on regular basis and wherever there is trash is lifted by them.
He further said they have started campaign to clean the area from any kind of litter which caused pollution. Javed claimed that he had visited the locality several times to inquire the process of cleanliness and also to ask locals whether they have inconveniences in the area or not. Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) of Town I Javed Amjed maintained that soon the remaining trash would be lifted.
