3-day Chrysanthemum show begins

Begum Corps Commander Peshawar, Lt General Khalid Rabbani inaugurated a three-day 41st Annual Chrysanthemum show at Garrison Park here on Wednesday. Accompanied by Corps Commander she inaugurated the exhibition by cutting the ribbon here. The exhibition will continue till December 8, 2012. 

The corps commander and his wife went around the displayed flowers and took keen interest in it. During the inauguration of the show, the corps commander who was the chief guest on the occasion also distributed prizes amongst winners. In a total of 8 categories, prizes were distributed and the first position and Governor Challenge Cup was won by air headquarters while Cantonment Board Peshawar was the runner up in Chief Minister Challenge Cup. 

The corps commander said that such exhibitions bring out our aesthetic sense and make us compliment the wonders of nature. Plants make our environments beautiful, pollution free and the world a better place, he added. Earlier, Cantonment Executive Officer Muhammad Saleem Hassan Wattoo presented the welcome address. He also apprised the participants of the background and importance of holding such exhibitions. 

The inauguration session of Annual Chrysanthemum Show was attended by people belonging to all walks of life. The three-day chrysanthemum show has been organized jointly by Cantonment Board Peshawar and Station Headquarters Peshawar Cantt.
