
All major hospitals of Peshawar including Lady Reading Hospital, Hayatabad Medical Complex and Khyber Teaching Hospital are on red alert and ready to deal with any emergency situation.
The Chief Executive of the three hospitals has canceled the holidays of all the doctors and paramedical staff. The decision was taken on Friday by the Chief Executive of the three hospitals to deal with any emergency. Special security passes were issued to doctors, paramedical staff, nurses and lower staff of the hospitals.
Public Relation Officer of LRH, Dr.Hayat Khan told The Frontier Post that only emergency gate would remain open for entrance while the remaining four gates of the hospital would be closed.
He also added that only one visitor would be allowed with the patients.
Dr.Hayat said that special arrangements had been made by the administration to provide medicine to the patients in the hospital, adding that OPD would remain open for the patients.
He also added that special security measures had been taken for the hospital while extra thirty six security personnel had been deployed in the hospital to deal any mishap.
An emergency meeting was called on Friday in Hayatabad Medical Complex which was chaired by the chief executive of the hospital Professor Dr.Zubair Khan in which he decided that all the staff of the hospital will be on duty in Ashura.
