
Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti has issued directives to accelerate the pace of work on the ongoing and new mega projects in communication sector.
He also directed the authorities to remove hurdles that were causing delay in work on remodeling of Ring Road. Chairing the review meeting on projects in Peshawar at his office on Tuesday the Chief Minister directed for speedy completion of under construction under-passes on Jamrud road due to traffic problems confronting the people.
Provincial Ministers Syed Zahir Ali Shah, Syed Aaqil Shah, Additional Chief Secretary, higher authorities C&W, finance, local government and P&D departments, Director General PDA and other concerned authorities attended meeting.
DG PDA presented detailed briefing to the meeting on progress on Arbab Sikandar Khan Khalil Flyover, Mufti Mehmood Flyover, Ring Road Northern and Southern parts, widening of railway over pass on ring road, and under construction under passes on Jamrud Road and Pajjagi Road to Warsak Road.
Time frame for completion of certain works was chalked out during the meeting. The Chief Minister said that people were confronting difficulties on both sides of the Ring Road due to increased scale dust and pollution.
He also directed concerned authorities to make arrangements to sprinkle water to control the dust.
The Chief Minister approved repair and rehabilitation of road from G.T. Road to Motorway enter-point and directed PDA for prepare estimate for the construction of the road so that the work could be started soon.
He approved certain other recommendations on construction of green-belt under Arbab Sikandar Khan fly-over and cleanliness on G.T.ROAD.
Amir Haider Khan Hoti said that importance of these projects for beautification of Peshawar city and lessening traffic problems was important that was why these projects must be accomplished at the earliest.
The meeting was informed on construction of bridge on Kabul River Canal for widening of road near Arbab Sikandar Khan Flyover, and work on drainage schemes in associated areas of Nishtar Abad and Bilal town was also in progress while Mufti Mehmood Flyover will be accomplished by 31 December next year.
