The Bank of Khyber (BOK) Wednesday opened a special sub-branch in the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa here to facilitate the members of provincial assembly and staff in getting better banking facilities at door step.

The branch was inaugurated in a simple, but impressive ceremony attended by the officials of assembly secretariat and Bank of Khyber. 

Speaker, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Kiramatullah Khan was chief guest while Managing Director (MD) BOK, Bilal Mustafa was also present on the occasion.

In his welcome speech, Managing Director, BOK, Bilal Mustafa said that due to the confidence of the people and patronizing of the provincial government the bank has registered remarkable growth in all financial heads.

He attributed the growth of the bank to amendment made in the Bank of Khyber Act in 2009 by the present provincial assembly, which once again allowed the bank to open conventional banking branches.

Highlighting the growth of the bank during last four years, he said that in March 2008 the total deposits of the BOK were Rs.23 billion, which has now reached to Rs.58 billion, load disbursement from Rs.1 billion to Rs.26 billion and the annual profit of the bank, which was merely Rs.12 million has climbed to Rs.1.10 billion.
