
Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Development Authority is to organise Gen-Y- Exhibition in next month. The event will be held in connections with the Global Young Entrepreneurs Week that is being observed from November 12 to 18, 2012.
The aims and objectives of holding the exhibition is the encouragement of business activities to play role in economic activities and employment generation. The products of the entrepreneurs will be introduced at society market to enable to play role in the economic development of the country. In the event both women and men entrepreneurs will be provided equal opportunity.
Provincial Chief, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda), Javed Iqbal Khattak said that the exhibition will continue for three days and the participants will be introduced to financial institutions and obtaining of capital for their businesses.
He said that Women Business Development Centre (WBDC) Swat has already started soft operation and in this connection, the centre organized a seminar. He said that in the Eid Shopping Gala held before Eidul Azha women entrepreneurs from Swat were especially invited for participation and their products were introduced in the local market.
The formal inauguration of the centre will be held before the end of the current calendar year. The centre, he said will help provide a favourable environment to women entrepreneurs where they will feel comportable in running their businesses. He said that the centre will work under the supervision of women business experts, which will facilitate the women entrepreneurs of the terrorism and flood affected district Swat and their products will not only be introduced in local but also in international market. Similarly, he said that the women entrepreneurs of Swat will also be imparted skill on further development of their businesses.
