The residents of Peshawar Monday thronged to different parks of the Provincial Capital to entertain and enjoy themselves on third day of Eidul Azha following an improvement of law and order situation in the City.

A large number of people along with their families visited different parks and picnic spots both inside and outside the city to celebrate and enjoy the Eid celebrations.

People belonging to every walk of life including children and boys were seen enjoying themselves in Sher Khan Shaheed Stadium (commonly known as Army Stadium), Tatara Park, Shahi Bagh and Khalid Bin Walid Parks where elaborate arrangements made.

Sardaryab picnic point on Peshawar-Charsadda Road and Kund Park in Nowshera has also attracted tourists in sufficient number enjoyed fried fish and other spicy items.

Great rush of people were seen in restaurants and hotels. The residents also visited Namak Mandai at night to enjoy the traditional Tikka Karahi and Bar B Que. Namak Mandi is a joyous place and people use it for a few moments of respite away from their routine activities, with the aim to taste Tikkas variety at numerous shops.

However, famous Tikka seller in Namak Mandi, Nisar alias Charsi told APP the sale of Tikka Karai is very low these days due to availability of abundance of sacrificial animals’ meat with people and expressed optimism that his business would get momentum in couple of week once the sacrificial meat is consumed.

The local and foreign tourists visit Namak Mandai to taste Bar B Que and Tikka Karai here, he added.

He said we don’t use ghee and excessive spices but instead cook the mutton in its own fat that makes it more delicious and attracted customers. Kurshid Alam, a resident of Nowshera who came along with his brothers to Namak Mandai told APP that whenever I come to Peshawar, I visit Namak Mandi because the mutton cocked here is very tasty and cholesterol-free.

However, he saw rise in Tikka Karachi prices as compared to previous years, which he feels, needed to be checked. Great hustle and bustle is also witnessed in cinemas where film lovers are entertaining themselves with Pushto movies. The City police have made tight security arrangements on occasion around cinemas and public places on occasion of Eidul Azha.
