
The Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar (UoP) Prof Dr. Qibla Ayaz has reiterated to make all possible facilitation arrangements to enhance the enrollment percentage of foreign students at the University. He expressed these views while addressing an Eid Milan Party hosted in honour of foreign and hard area students of the university.
The party was attended by 25 foreign students belonging from Yemen, Malaysia, Sudan, Nigeria etc along with students from Kurran and North Waziristan Agency. Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar Prof. Dr. Qibla Ayaz and other University officials received students at the party.
“We are present among you today so as to share this moment of joy together at a time when you are away from your family and hometowns on this eidul azha,” he said. The University of Peshawar has made a foreign students facilitation desk to make their admission process smooth and on time, he added.
“These foreign students would convey the real image of our people and area to the whole world once they pass out. I am sure after they leave, would help in rectifying, most of the misperceptions, that prevails, among the world about us,” said the Vice Chancellor. Special steps are also being taken to encourage more people from the under privilege tribal areas to take admission in UoP, he said.
The time I have spend at University of Peshawar is the best period of life where all my genuine problems have been addressed at the earliest by the concerned persons at varsity, said Hashim Abdul Rehman Al Ghaili, the recently appointed Ambassador for the University of Peshawar at Yemen. He said the foreign media is building a fabricated image of Pakistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The ground reality is that this area is comparatively far safer place in the world, he added. Dean Faculty of Numerical and Physical Sciences Prof. Dr. Muhammad Riaz, Dean Faculty of Management and Information Sciences Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qayyum, Dean Faculty of Arts and Humanities Prof. Dr. Farooq Swati, Registrar Dr. Syed Fazli Hadi, Director Administration Ishtiaqullah Khan and other officials and faculty members were also present on the occasion.
