Chief Minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Haider Khan Hoti on Sunday opened the reconstructed mausoleum of Pashto Sufi poet Rehman Baba. The mausoleum was destroyed by terrorists. The reconstruction has cost an amount of Rs 39 million. 

On this occasion, the Chief Minister was accompanied by Senior Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour while other present on the occasion included Secretary Local Governments, Aurangzeb Khan, and DCO Javed Marwat, acting Director General (DG), PDA, Aminuddin and other officer concerned. The Chief Minister has had detailed inspection of the mausoleum and made prayers there. 

Talking to media, the Chief Minister said that living nation always remembers the services and achievements of their elders and literary persons. He said that the great Sufi people through their philosophy and poetry have given the message of love and peace, but some unfortunate and unscrupulous elements target his mausoleum and damaged it. Such elements have also targeted the mausoleums of Ajmal Khan Khattak and several other poets and some of their bids were also foiled. However, he said that the reconstruction of these mausoleums in more beautiful manner is the resolve of the government. 

The Chief Minister said that the reconstruction of mausoleum of Rehman Baba reflects the services, personality and character of the great Sufi poet, but also the ample proof of the resolve of the provincial government in this regard. He said that the reconstruction of the mausoleums of Pakhtun leaders included Gajju Khan Baba and Malik Ahmad Khan is also in progress. He said that the services and efforts of these elders for the promotion of love, unity and peace are part of the history and in capacity of living nation the following of their education and message is not only their duty, but also need of the hour. 

Regarding recent political survey conducted by an US organisation, the Chief Minister said that real survey is general elections, saying the people should wait to get factual position of popularity. 

Talking about Sunday T-20 match between Pakistan and India, he said like the whole nation he also wishes and is confident that Pakistani team will win this crucial match of the tournament. He said that in Pak-India match usually increase the interest and expectations of the people. However, he termed team spirit more important than win and loss. 

The Chief Minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa expressed good wishes for Pakistani cricket team. However, he said that in case of loss the nation should go disappointed. He appreciated the standard of the construction of Rehman Baba mausoleum and termed it equal to the services, personality and character of the mystic poet. He in this connection also appreciated the efforts of the department of Local Government and Peshawar Development Authority.
