Female students grabbed all the top six positions in University of Peshawar BA and B. Sc annual examination. Sidra Saeed Qazi, student of Jinnah College stood first overall by getting four hundred and ninety three marks. She also got first position in B. Sc while Zaiba Said and Hira Iqbal Siddiqi of Jinnah College for Women stood second and third respectively.

The overall percentage remained thirty four percent, said Controller Examination Prof. Dr. Rasheed Khan in a press conference here on Friday.

In the Bachelor of Arts Maryam Ali of Army Burn Hall College took first position by obtaining four hundred and thirty one marks. Sidra Shaheen and Zonaira Akbar of the same college got second and third position by getting four hundred twenty nine and four hundred twenty two marks.

A total of forty five thousand five hundred twenty two candidates appeared in the BA, B. Sc annual examination among which fifteen thousand six hundred and forty three were declared passed. 

The number of students appeared in BA, B.Sc Part I were around twenty six thousand among which seven thousand five hundred and eighty nine were declared successful with passing percentage of 29. In the part second among nineteen thousand seven hundred eighty four students appeared in which eight thousand fifty four were successful. Their passing percentage stood 40.

The Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar Prof. Dr. Qibla Ayaz gave away certificates and prizes among the successful students. He announced free education in University of Peshawar for all the top three position holders of BA, B. Sc for pursuing their Master Degrees.

Dr. Ayaz added female students have taken all the three positions in both the categories reveals the fact that people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are encouraging female education and our daughters are second to none in the world in talent and hard work.

The ceremony was attended by parents of the achiever students, Registrar Dr. Syed Fazli Hadi, Deputy Controller Yorid Ahsan Zia, Director Admissions Prof. Dr. Hizbullah Khan and others.
