
The Khyber Pakthunkhwa government has launched Internship and capacity building projects for the stakeholders of Information Technology (IT), ITES companies and call centres to build up a technically knowledge based workforce with an objective to bolster IT industry in the province.
Official sources told APP on Sunday that the program has been launched by Khyber Pakthunkhwa Information Technology Board (ITB) to build up a technically savvy workforce for the companies of IT parks, Peshawar and Abbottabad in Khyber Pakthunkhwa.
The official said the Internship project was aimed at giving subsidies to stakeholders interested to make investment in information technology and ITES companies to build up their technical competencies.
As many as Rs. 15000 subsidy per month would be given to each internee besides employment in IT sector.
Under the capacity building project, he said the IT Board will extend full support to all selected beneficiaries of IT and Call Centres besides subsidies to boost up a technical, managerial and communication skills and 50 percent training subsidy for SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, Cisco etc.
Likewise, assistance for public private partnerships and employment in the IT sector would also be imparted.
The official said company certification and incubation project for capacity building of entrepreneurs and start up companies projects are in pipe line.
He said the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government has already announced the establishment of two IT parks in the province.
He said the government has allocated Rs. one billion for the project, which will be completed in a period of five years. One of the parks will be established in Peshawar, while the other will be set up in Abbottabad.
