The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has started offering free of cost Chinese language courses for the youth in Government Technical Teachers Training College Hayatabad Peshawar. institutions to enable them to benefit from different project under CPEC (China Pakistan Economic Corridor).

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government took the initiative after talks between CM Pervez Khattak and a Chinese delegation, said Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TEVTA-KP) Chairman and Chief Minister’s Special Assistant Arshad Ali Umarzai while talking to media.

The basic aim of this step, is to provide job opportunities in CPEC to skillful and young youth of the province. Initially, Chinese language classes for three months have scheduled to started, with a teacher having skilled and strong hold on Chinese language and years of experience teaching Chinese language in Tableeg and worked as translator of Tableegi Jumat in China name Naseem Khan hired for it.

This free classes for duration of three months are being offered at Government Technical Teachers Training College Hayatabad Peshawar.

Arshad Ali Umarzai said that China needs for CPEC projects hundreds of people for labour and other different jobs. Chinese officials have assured the khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister people from the province will get benefit towards this end, he added.

In addition, The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has presented a proposal to the cabinet for inclusion of Chinese language in the academic course for successful contribution in CPEC (China Pakistan Economic Corridor) project for the country.

KP Education Minister Atif Khan said that “the cabinet has not approved the proposal so far. He said in case of approval, the Chinese language will be taught from Class-VI to Class-XII as an optional subject.” while he talking to media persons on Tuesday.

The Chief Minister of KP said those who know Chinese language have brighter prospects of getting jobs in the different CPEC projects.

Official sources on Saturday said that the initiative was taken after talks between a Chinese delegation and the Provincial Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA). The sources said Chinese language courses of three months will be in progress in month of July after Eid.
