
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir Haidar Khan Hoti has directed officials of Peshawar Development Authority to expedite pace of work on northern section of Ring Road to facilitate traffic flow. He was chairing a meeting regarding construction of northern section from Pajjagi Road to Warsak Road of Peshawar Ring road at Chief Minister Secretariat on Tuesday.
Senior Minister for local government Bashier Ahmed Bilour, Secretary Local Government, Secretary C&W, D.G, PDA, and other concerned officers attended the meeting. Chief Minister said that funds had already been allocated for the work in the next financial year’s ADP and there would be no problem in this regard.
He therefore directed the concerned authorities to complete formalities including acquisition of land so that the project could be launched as early as possible. He also discussed the design of a flyover and two U-Turns for right turning traffic of Charsadda Road intersection and directed that there should be no hurdle in the free flow of traffic at this point.
Earlier, the Chief Minister was informed that the length of the northern section of Ring Road from Pajjagi Road to Warsak Road is 3.5 km and the project would cost Rs.37.56 million. The road will consist of a dual carriage way, three lanes each, culverts and bridges in addition to an interchange at Pajjagi Road intersection.
